Custom Coating Machines
DECC offers the service of designing, or contracting via third party, a custom coating line for coating parts that don't otherwise lend themselves to existing spray applications.
In addition to spray equipment, we also provide this service for alternate operations, such as surface preparation and 100% vision system inspection.
Typically, unique part geometries, with difficult angles are best suited for robotic coating technology. Our engineers will work with part-specific programming, taking full advantage of our two 6-axis FANUC’s and our one 6-axis ABB robot. We have the room necessary to add inline dryers and ovens, automated load and unload, vision systems, and automated packaging, should you need it.
Surface Preparation & Vision System Inspection
In addition to spray equipment, we also provide this service for alternate operations, such as surface preparation and 100% vision system inspection. We have previous experience designing and building PLC controlled aluminum oxide blasters that are specifically designed to hit unique angles and to insure that there will not be any part to part contact. With regards to vision systems, we were approached by an OEM that wished to have DECC coat both of their competing suppliers parts, insuring that parts would never be mixed in case there was ever a warrantee issue on the finished assembly. Our Engineering and Quality departments were able to design a system that would guarantee the Japanese OEM that parts would never be mixed despite the fact that there was less than one millimeter difference in the size of the ID circle. The vision system utilized 2 cameras, was designed to handle high volume production rates, and packaged the finished product without touching human hands. As of 2009, we have processed over 32 million parts without once ever mixing their parts.
