DECC applies adhesive coatings to a variety of substrates which allow for the bonding of two different materials during molding operations. Our rubber to metal bonding adhesive coatings are an example of this.

Adhesive coatings designed for rubber to metal bonding (in-mold of post-vulcanization) are beneficial for automotive coatings services like suspension systems, engine mounts, and other applications requiring shock absorption and sound deadening.

A variety of adhesive chemistries exists that allow us to coat numerous other types of substrates where bond strength and pushout testing are also required.

Chemlok, which is a product manufactured by Lord Corp, is used as automotive coatings for rubber to metal bonding. Through the use of chemlock we can provide effective automotive coatings services.

Our rubber to metal bonding prep method, coupled with our application method, sets DECC apart from our competition. Molded parts perform better during push out test thanks to our quality systems. We have years of experience applying Rubber to Metal coatings on millions of parts. Fact: DECC successfully coated 10,000,000 pieces of part #7104-9 without one reject (Trelleborg Quality Mgr). Not only do we coat parts, if the situation is right, we can design a coating machine to handle any part geometry you have. We have experience not only designing a rubber to metal bonding adhesive application line that is state of the art, we have also designed and implemented high speed laser checkers that can tell one part from the other, even if it is only 1 millimeter different in size. These checker systems tell if the primer has been applied before the part reaches the second coating station, which then applies the top coat. The final checker checks to make sure that the top coat was applied as well.
